Meeting Dates: June 19–24, 2025
Location: University of Denver, Denver, Colorado

As part of the upcoming AAPM Summer School, we are organizing a fun and informal Evening MR Artifact Showcase to highlight interesting, puzzling, or just plain amusing MR artifacts encountered in clinical practice. This is a lighthearted opportunity to share, laugh, and learn together as a community!

We invite AAPM members to submit MR artifacts in PowerPoint format, not to exceed three slides, and include the following:

  • At least one image of the artifact
  • Description of the hardware setup
  • Imaging protocol used
  • Any other relevant context
  • Identifying the root cause of the artifact is not required.
  • Artifacts may stem from hardware quirks, pulse sequence issues, reconstruction errors, protocol deviations, foreign bodies—or even patient-specific oddities. Unusual and humorous cases are especially encouraged!

Presentation Details:

  • Each selected submission will be presented in 2 minutes or less.
  • A panel of faculty will provide expert commentary, share how they evaluate such artifacts, and offer insight into their decision-making process.
  • The event is designed to be engaging and educational—keep it light and fun!
  • An award will be given for the best presentation of the night as voted by attendees.

Registration for the AAPM Summer School is required to participate.
