WE-B-TRACK 5-0 (Wednesday, 7/28/2021) 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM [Eastern Time (GMT-4)]

Surface imaging is becoming a prevalent technology for many radiotherapy treatments, with its clinical applications expanding. The AAPM formed the TG-302 to provide recommendations on the common SGRT clinical applications and discuss its implementation. In addition, TG-302 surveyed AAPM members in 2018 on the prevalence and clinical uses of SGRT. This session will review the survey results to describe the current state of clinical use, including high-dose treatments such as stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT). Considerations for specific commissioning and quality assurance tests for SGRT systems will be reviewed. The recommendations of TG-302 regarding use of SGRT for breast radiotherapy and frameless brain SRS treatments will be presented, and some of the potential pitfalls that could occur during clinical application will be summarized.

Learning objectives:
1. Summarize results of survey regarding the prevalence of SGRT
2. Learn how to commission and QA SGRT systems
3. Discuss the use of SGRT for breast deep-inspiration breath hold treatments including pitfalls
4. Discuss the use of SGRT for frameless brain SRS treatments including risk mitigation
