Equipment testing is a key component of the life of a clinical medical physicist. For some imaging systems, this process is straightforward and well-established. Some systems, however, have unique characteristics that require adaptation of traditional testing methods. This session will feature active clinical medical physicists, each of whom will reveal how to tackle testing some of these "misfit" systems that fall outside of the norm among imaging systems. The discussion will include what QC evaluations one should consider, how these may be adapted for "non-standard" systems, and how to approach QC for technically advanced equipment that does not yet have clearly-defined, accepted testing methods. Speakers will specifically address breast ultrasound, color displays, digital dental units, O-arms, mini c-arms, and DXA units.

Learning Objectives:
1. Obtain practical tips for successfully evaluating less common imaging systems.
2. Understand some of the unique characteristics of these less common systems.
3. Understand how to incorporate adapted/new QC practices when evaluating technologically advanced equipment.
