Medical physics was not immune to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the profession required creative methods to adapt to working in this new age. This presentation first will introduce a recent publication on the global medical physics response to the pandemic (Medical Physics During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Global Perspectives in Clinical Practice, Education, and Research) and then focus on the North American response in the areas of clinical practice, education, research, and regulatory and accreditation. It will conclude with lessons learned and opportunities identified from the COVID-19 experience.
