In 2018, the American College of Radiology (ACR) released an update to its Digital Mammography Quality Control Manual to include systems with digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) capabilities. With this update, facilities could transition to a standard QC program for all mammography units. In this session, the speaker will discuss switching over to the new manual across a large, multi-centered health care system.
Learning Objectives:
1) Review the details of the ACR DM QC program and how it differs from manufacturer QC.
2) Explore the rationale for changing QC programs, including gains in efficiencies and time for both physicists and technologists.
3) Review an example process for implementing this program change a large health system.
4) Provide examples of the challenges and limitations in the current ACR DM manual, and suggestions for how to address them.
