The AAPM has been publishing Medical Physics Practice Guidelines (MPPGs) since 2013. In this session the purpose of the MPPGs and the process of developing them will be described. In addition, highlights of the MPPGs published in the last year will be presented.

Updates will be presented on several Imaging MPPGs included MPPG 1.b (CT protocol management and review), MPPG 3.b (Levels of supervision for medical physicists in clinical training), MPPG 4.b (Levels of supervision for medical physicists in clinical training), and MPPG 12.a (Fluoroscopy dose management). Updates will also be presented for several Therapy MPPGs including MPPG 2.b (Commissioning and QA of x-ray based IMRT), MPPG 5.b (Commissioning and QA of TPS systems), MPPG11.a (Plan and chart review in external beam radiotherapy and brachytherapy), MPPG 13.a (HDR brachytherapy) and MPPG 15.1 (Peer review in clinical physics).

Learning Objectives:
1. To learn about the purpose of MPPGs.
2. To learn about how MPPG topics are identified.
3. To learn about the differences between an MPPG and a TG.
4. To learn about recently published and upcoming MPPGs.
