The AAPM Spring Clinical Meeting, to be held at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando, Florida, will include practical information designed to help medical physicists integrate emerging technologies into the clinical environment. A program has been developed to address regulatory and accreditation related issues, and provide a forum for the exchange of ideas in support of practice quality improvement.
ITEMS OF INTEREST
In the Clinic: Short Oral
This is your opportunity to share interesting, innovative, helpful, or unique clinical activities from your clinic. Abstracts may be submitted for a short oral presentation. Each speaker will be allocated 7 minutes (5-minute presentation + 2-minute Q&A) and will be grouped by broad theme. These will be clinically based talks. We’re interested in the process, rather than a history of the procedure. Practical solutions that others can look up and implement will be given highest priority.
Presidential Symposium: Our Place in the Oncoverse – Medical Physics in Oncology
Ehsan Samei, AAPM President-Elect will open the Spring Clinical Meeting with a special session focused on what the community of physicists uniquely bring to the world of oncology. He joins a distinguished panel that includes a practicing clinical medical physicist and a radiation oncologist who is also trained in medical physics to share and open a dialogue about diagnostic, therapeutic and care pathways as well as technology and trends in cancer care. The session promises to set the stage for the dynamic and practical sessions that will follow over the course of the meeting.
