Sustainability

Environmental Impact

Did you know that the typical conference attendee produces 4 lbs of waste per day, 2.6 lbs of which goes to landfill?1

For a 3,000-person, five-day event that translates into:

60,000 lbs of total waste (> weight of 20 compact cars)2

39,000 lbs of landfill (> weight of 13 compact cars)3

2,918 tons of CO2e (> 297,000 gallons of gasoline consumed)4

5 Easy Tips for Attendees

1. Utilize public transportation, car-sharing services, or walk to get to the Convention Center and explore the city.

2. Responsibly dispose of waste materials in the appropriate bins throughout the Convention Center and in Hotels.

3. Choose chicken, turkey, or seafood over red meats when dining during the event or around town.

4. Bring a reusable water bottle instead of grabbing a disposable plastic bottle.

5. Decline turndown service, opt to reuse towels, and remember to turn off the lights during your hotel stay.
