Ultrasound imaging provides unique capability for real-time volumetric imaging. It’s low cost and small size allowing imaging at the patient's bedside and has been widely used in medical physics community.

This session focuses on cutting-edge ultrasound imaging technologies include photoacoustic imaging, X-ray induced acoustic computed tomography, ionoacoustic imaging, and super-resolution ultrasound microvessel imaging. The successful development of these technologies will expand the current clinical paradigm towards precision medicine. This symposium will provide the technical background driving these technologies and shed light on the new emerging applications from leading experts in this domain, as well as discuss future prospects for clinical implementation.

Learning Objectives:
1. Understand the cutting-edge ultrasound imaging technologies
2. Identify emerging applications of radiation acoustics in radiotherapy
3. Identify emerging applications of ultrasound microbubble imaging
