Room 207
The purpose of this session is to guide the medical physicists through the interpretation and thought process of a fellowship-trained subspecialized breast radiologist when reviewing screening mammography. The radiologist will provide an overview of the terminologies and systematic approach in mammography interpretation based on the fundamental Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System (BI-RADS). Relevant discussions on breast density, digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT), and computer-aided detection (CAD) / artificial intelligence (AI) will also be presented.
Learning objectives:
After this session, the audience will be able:
(1)To become familiar with the general anatomy and common imaging findings on mammography
(2)To summarize the rationale of the final assessment and management recommendations based on the BI-RADS assessment category
(3)To understand the benefits and challenges of screening mammography and how they relate to breast density
