As the demographic of the medical physics field changes, bringing to light the career opportunities and contributions of those medical physicists in non-clinical professionals is a critical component to keeping those in this cohort active members of the AAPM.

In this session, we aim to cover three major topics: 1. non-clinical professions, their general responsibilities, and career/networking information, 2. what the AAPM is doing to meet the needs of non-clinical professionals – both in the WGNC and beyond, and 3. Experiences from a non-clinical AAPM member on non-clinical profession(s) including challenges of a career journey.

Speakers will be from different cohorts of non-clinical medical physics professions to highlight the different career journeys and the strength that we as physicists can gain from having professionals within the AAPM with diverse backgrounds. The session will begin with a brief introduction and end with a Q&A panel discussion.

The learning objectives are:
1. To inform attendees about the AAPM resources and highlight some specific to non-clinical professionals
2. To provide information on non-clinical professions
3. To share non-clinical experiences to help create a personal connection within the AAPM community
