Since 2005, AAPM has supported the notion that increasing diversity and inclusion within Medical Physics is a priority. It was that year that the original version of the current Diversity and Inclusion subcommittee (DISC), Women and Minority Recruitment subcommittee (WMRSC), was created to establish a fellowship program to increase the number of women and racial minorities within AAPM—Diversity Recruitment through Education and Mentoring (DREAM). A few years later, the Women’s Professional Subcommittee (WPSC) was formed and since then, we have enjoyed an explosion of activity in the equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) space.

With over 15 years of experience in EDI, we are now being even more intentional about advancing our strategic goal of EDI at every level within our organization and our field, whether it be at the trainee level, the workplace, in AAPM and beyond. This session will describe the EDI data that we have for our field and provide a structured approach towards championing and improving EDI in your group or workplace.
