This presentation will describe reimbursement changes implemented in 2022, value-based alternative payment models, and proposed Medicare policy and payment changes for 2023. A review of current trends and changes that impact radiation oncology and radiology healthcare economics will be provided. A discussion of the Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System (HOPPS), Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS), and Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) Payment System will be discussed.

Learning Objectives:
1. Basic understanding of the how the current fee-for-service reimbursement environment impacts the medical physicist.
2. Basic understanding of alternative payment models including the Radiation Oncology Alternative Payment Model.
