Presentations

MO-J-207-0 (Monday, 7/11/2022) 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM [Eastern Time (GMT-4)]

Room 207

This session will include lectures and interactive moderator-to-panel and audience-to-panel discussions. Attendees are invited to reach out to the session moderator before the meeting with any specific CT protocol optimization issues (e.g., reformat creation, AEC, kV setting, protocolling, combination exams, contrast delivery, 3D post processing, sending data to AI vendors, etc.) so their questions can be posed to the panel. Lectures in this session will include: a discussion from a cancer radiologist on the clinical need for “higher” dose oncology protocols, a discussion from a MSK radiologist on tips and tricks for patient positioning for image quality optimization, and a discussion from a CT technologist covering the basics of CT contrast delivery. The session will close with the panel discussion on protocol optimization issues.

Learning Objectives:
1. Understand why and by how much some oncology indications require higher doses than “routine” imaging
2. Walk away from this session with tangible action items for imaging workflow that will improve image quality in MSK imaging
3. Understand the administration of IV contrast from the perspective of a CT technologists with a focus on the clinical impact of scan speed and injection dynamics

Funding Support, Disclosures, and Conflict of Interest: TPS is on the medical advisory board of Imalogix LLC (personally) and GE Healthcare (through UW Madison). TPS receives research support from GE Healthcare (through UW Madison). TPS is a consultant to ALARA Imaging, AstoCT LLC, and FlowHow.ai.
